I'm looking for English speaking friends around my residence. I'm a female 33, with 100% employment in Zurich in an IT company and I'm living in Oberwinterthur with my Swiss partner. I'd like to get to know some people who I could meet after work, to sit in a park and talk about life, Swiss mentality etc. If I have a chance and find somebody a little sporty we could go for beach volley, hiking.. but the primer point is to have a soul mate in a foreign country. I was hoping to find those people among Swiss guys, but it just don't happen. Looking forward to read from you. Marione

I haven't arrived in Switzerland yet, but will be there in August.
Keep me posted if you want to arrange a catch up around Zurich area for coffee, vino, lunch or dinner.
I don't speak any German (although my partner is Swiss and speaks a multitude of languages) and I will no doubt find things a little hard initially.
It never hurts to make new friends.

At the moment I m studying in Winterthur and would like to meet new friends here or in Zürich. I grew up in Basel but in Winterthur I feel myself like a foreigner because I don t know any body here.

I don't live in winterthur, but my family and I will be there this wkend my kids are Bmx racing come along have a drink chat and watch the exciting races ( I love watching the pros jump they are amazing )

I live in Oberwinterthur. I am Swiss but I'm married to a wonderful English man. If you would like to meet I am available. I am currently on maternity leave, I had a baby in June and sometimes I feel quite lonely. It would be great to get out of the house.

I will be arriving in Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 5 month old baby in three weeks. We will be staying in wald (Zurich area) and I would LOVE to catch up with other new mums around Zurich! I speak a TINY bit of German... Also I am looking for a travel cot and car seat if anyone can help out!

That sounds great. I am a teacher too - secondary English and history. It's kind of overwhelming moving with the baby but we have some family there so it isn't too bad. I will be new to winterthur too soon! i will start my first job in Switzerland at the end of august.

Originally im from holland, while in the mean time having lived and studied in Wales for 3 years and currently working in germany as a development engineer in motorcycle racing.

It would be great to meet new people in winterthur to have a laugh with whilst having some lunch, coffee or a nice pint!!

I am currently in Greece and i want to move permanently to Winterthur(lovely city) but I would like to find a job before I come there (...if that's even possible).

I don't speak German, studied Applied Mathematics for 4 years and drop off( ) (school was 5 yrs) worked for 1yr as web-developer (php,html,css,javascript) and 3yrs as a small network installer and PC technician (freelancer) additionally I know Java and Python3. I am addressing mostly to the IT crowd in the thread, do you think I have even the slightest change to get a job in Winterthur with CHF 3500 (gross) or should I start looking for cleaning crew jobs?
