This is my second stint in Switzerland the first being when I lived in Nyon for a year in 2010-2011 and now I have arrived in Bern
If anyone has any tips how to meet people in Bern that would be greatly appricated.

If it is fellow english speakers you want to meet then might I suggest Come Dine With Us, keep an eye out for the social events calendar as there is a meal the first Tuesday every month. Generally the Pickwick Pub is home to a few english speakers also.
If it is fellow students you want to meet then try the bars around Langasse.

Bern is probably the most social town in Switzerland (that's why I'm trying to find an apartment between there and Murten, my workplace).... it's impossible not to meet people, just go and start talking to them.....

Oh, and go see a gig in the Mahogany Hall, they usually have good music and parties.....

I am moving to Bern on July 24th I can't wait to get there but I don't really speak much of the language so would be great to meet some English speakers and start making some friends maybe we could sort something out?

That's brilliant from my point of view as I'll be heading back from Montreux towards Zurich anyway.

Will there be ticket scouts at the Gurten flogging tickets?

I also don´t have a ticket but I´m thinking on buying in there.

Everyone says there´s always tickets in blackmarket not too much more expensive.

I guess I´ll give it a try!
