Re: hi moving to lausanne from texas

Hi Eli, welcome to the Lausanne area! The most hassle free (unless you enjoy sitting in traffic jams everywhere) is to take the train from Lausanne to Geneva. Takes 33 to 45 mins each way depending on what train you catch. All info at : http://www.cff.ch . This forum has a ton of information on living in the Lausanne area, just use the town name as a keyword, it works pretty well for just about every aspect of life here.

Are you shipping any house hold goods via an international shipping company?
If so I have some info to share that may help you save some money.

When taking the train, you might want to buy a demi-tarif card. Afterwards all train tickets are half price..
