I just moved here from the States a few weeks ago with my wife, and am working in a lab at ETH. I registered for the forum just now, but searching the forum was a pretty helpful resource when we were moving here and getting set up.

Now that we're kind of settled in, does anybody want to meet up for a beer after work today? My wife and I don't have any plans yet, and we don't really know anybody. Somewhere cheap, preferably, as I am on an a salary equivalent to that of a PhD student.

Welcome to Zürich! Where in the US are you from? I'm from NYC and my husband is from TN but we were living in Raleigh NC before we moved here in 2010.

I'm from PA originally, but spent the last few years living in the Twin Cities.

Not sure if you're at Zentrum or Hoengg or elsewhere, but there is a halloween party at Loch Ness at Hoengg tonight. Should be good social times.

I work at Zentrum, but live closer to the Hoengg campus. I might pass on that one, though. Halloween has never been my thing.
