| | | Hope to be welcome even if I'm Swiss ;-)
Hello everyone,
I know this is a forum for english speaking peoplen in Switzerland, well, with me it's the opposite - I'm Swiss and Swiss (-german) speaking in Switzerland
I hope to get some advise about your country as I'll visit Goodwood in summer.
In the past, I've been to London for many times, but haven't been there for years.
I love english cars!! I don't love english weather... I love pubs! And I love the humour And I love the small clubs with loud concerts of completely unknown bands...
Oh, and I LOVE New Zealand
If you find any miss-spellings or totaly wrong gramatic in my posts, feel free to keep them. If you have the time to post any corrections, I'd really appreciate it, as I want to do some progress in my english
On the opposite, if you have any questions about Switzerland that I, might answer, I'd be more than happy to do so, as good as I can.
See you later then, I'll try to post my first question now...
Cheers, Daniel

Hi and welcome. Goodwood, eh? Glorious Goodwood races (horse racing that is) in July/August, also I think the Festival of Speed (old British cars) in the same month/s.

Hi Daniel, you are definitely not the only Swiss here, and not the only Swiss German, lol- look out for Wollishoffener, and a few more.
I am a Romande (Neuchateloise), but lived in several locations in the UK for near on 40 years, married to a Brit- now back (with him) in the Jura now we are both retired. Have fun |

Well, ''swiss'' was not available... I hope, ''ssiws'' does not mean something stupid in english | | | | | Lol, fair enough.
I don't think it means anything, but I'm sure someone will come up with a very weird and totally made-up definition.

Welcome to the forum. You might be keen to discover what the late founder of the forum mentioned: | Quote: | | | | Inclusion - everyone is welcome: Using terms which are not universally understood by all our visitors excludes people. When it becomes widespread, visitors from one region may feel that the system is "not for them". It was never the goal of this system to encourage any particular group of people, or to appear as if there is a clique to outsiders. The only thing which should unite us is that English is used here, hopefully correctly. In this way, access is encouraged for all, even the Swiss who speak English.
| | | | | Source | Quote: | | | | For many of us, it is our native tongue. So this site is not just for English people, or even native speakers - it's for anyone who is living in (or interested in) Switzerland and would like to communicate in English. And since we don't believe in discrimination or excluding anyone, even the Swiss are welcome too! | | | | | Source | | This user would like to thank jrspet for this useful post: | |
