Looking for ski and beer buddies....!

Hi All
Originally from London and moving to Zurich for 2 months on 2nd Feb with work having spent the last 6 months in Berlin. Now Berlin was great and has alot to live up to and I must admit, the only thing I was looking forward to moving to Zurich for was the skiing. Now having spent a couple of hours on this forum I'm excited by the whole move! Sounds like Zurich is a whole load of fun!

I was going to ask questions about easiest and best ski places that are accessible for day/weekend trips but alot of this has already been answered by some of the other threads. Also not knowing a single soul in this city I am hoping to attend some of the events and get to meet some locals and expats. Sounds like Zurich has alot to offer but first thing I need to find is a pub that will be showing the Rugby 6 Nations... Any ideas anyone...? Also I think I will be living in the Seefeld area but have no idea what this is like? Any views gratefully recieved as I wont have a chance to visit before I sign up to the apartment.
Many Thanks

Beer and ski buddies? You will fit right in here (Especially if you can already use the search function).

Welcome to the forum, and of course Zurich.

Oh, and as for Seefeld, it is one of the less affluent areas, but you will find it is cheaper rent wise.

Just kidding. It is exactly the opposite

Somewhat amusing that the first two replies in the thread are from Aussies

I can't believe another alcoholic arriving in the country gets less replies than someone suggesting be're all wankers

Nicky - you should've posted that you're a 20-something Swedish aupair - even if you're not

Thanks for the welcome guys (and the tip on pretending to be a Swedish 20 year old!), and as for the Aussies, well they seem to be a welcoming bunch whereever you are in the world, although I do recall some not being so friendly in France late last year during a few Rugby games... but at least we can all be friends for a while!

Re: Looking for ski and beer buddies....!

For skiing both Flumserberg and Hoch-y-Brig are about an hour outside Zurich.
Rugby can be seen at Paddy O'Reilly's or possibly the Nelson.

Enjoy your stay in Zurich
