Re: Looking for native English-speaking people

You could always schlepp over to Zurich for the Midweek Drinks at the Talacker. See the Calendar entry for details. All are welcome and many come from 'beyond the Styx' for the chance of meeting DaveA and Co.

Well if you like to travel you can come to us i am very near your age, i also are interested in the same things as you, and very open-minded, and very laid back, in fact when friends visit they do not even bother to ask for a drink they just help themselves to the fridge I love meeting new people all the time, and making new friends.

Just promise me you will not speak Swiss to my husband, and kiddies oh yes, and speakink of good food i will even serve dinner with fine red wine just let me know if you want to travel to me.
And count me in too! Now that I am learning German and we have this Deutsch Stunde at home... my husband is also complaining that he's English is totally deteriorating!

Just PM me if you ever feel like meeting up.

Try Livers and Lovers in Bern on Thursday night. 30 minutes from Olten.
Are you going to make it for the Livers and Lovers tomorrow?

Hope Samira can make it too!

Re: Looking for native English-speaking people

Do you cycle? If so, then pop your Velo on the train and join the Basel cycle group... We meet in front of Basel SBB at the info boards. Next ride is in two weeks I think. I cant make it then but I went last week and it was really great... you can meet a lot of people very quickly and easily, alcohol free for an hour or so, then with alcohol afterwards!

I do cycle. Do you do easy tours or not? I'm not trained at all. On what day is it planned?

Re: Looking for native English-speaking people

Hi Samira,

I think I am going to this cycle event on Wednesday evening the 10th September, I was told it is a very easy tour.

Look in the social events part of this forum and you'll find lots of English-speakers doing stuff not too far from you.

See you around soon!

Re: Looking for native English-speaking people

Hi Samira, I really dnt know how hard this particular trip will be, but the one I went on two weeks ago was very placid and actually very ice... with say 10-14 people, there are al levels of course, and like many hings in life, the lowest common denominator rules... so you should be fine and just come. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I will be in Ghent for two days spanning the cycle trip so I will miss this one.

Cheers Chris

I'm Swiss, looking for contacts in Fribourg

Hello everybody

I'm 36 years old and Swiss. As I intend to relocate to Fribourg soon, I wonder if there are some of you living there.

I love the English language, but need to practise it more.

It would be great to meet people from the region of Fribourg to do things together and to improve my languages skills.

Anyone interested?

Samira

Re: Interested in contacts to a Swiss?

It is unusal for someone with 50 posts to write a second fourth introduction and this really isn't one anyway, so I've merged them all.

You can put your request for folk to practice your English on in the correct place. Check out the Tandem Threads in the Language section. I imagine you'll find someone there who would like to 'partner' with you.
Do a search for Fribourg to see if there are other folk from that region, aliens who also need new contacts.
