Another newbie

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in learning more about CH as I have recently visited an old friend who is now an expat there. I can imagine it is hard for those who move there and don't speak either French or German. Being German my friend has it easy.

A couple of things about myself: I am a 'transplant' living in NL, a hardcore long-timer and am intergrated. My travels are mostly planned around food, beer, wine, animals, nature etc. Am an extreme introvert and on the spectrum (hereditary). Usually go to Germany for christmas-new year hols.

Female, beer enthusiast, enjoy beer & food photography as a hobby. Speaking of which, my friend took me to Appenzel where I got a bunch of their lovely beer to take back to Konstanz.

Cheers

Hello Speckschneider, welcome to the forum. What sort of things do you want to know about Switzerland?

Re: Another newbie

Thanks, Jern. I know next to nothing about Swiss beer and food (besides fondue, which is nice actually.). My first taste of Swiss beer was Apenzeller bier and they were all good. For future visits my friend and I want to check out (micro) breweries in the Bodensee area (where he lives) and possibly further afield.

Also, I have a hard time understanding Swiss German when I listen to people in public, however, I do understand announcements and the radio. My friend says they can speak standard German but they just don't want to.
