FRICK area - English speaking groups/people?

We have lived in Switzerland for 10yrs mostly in Zurich. Now we are in the Frick area and my wife is wondering if there are any english speaking people or groups in or near Frick?

Welcome to the forum! Your question is a bit challenging, I'm not sure if we have other members from Fricktal. You might have more luck if you widen your search to Aarau.

Also, not that many users read the Introductions forum, I suggest that you have a look around and start another thread in an appropriate part of the forum. Good luck!

there are a few in Aarau ... keep any eye out in Social Events for the Great British Breakfast at The Penny Farthing. Flashman is normally there with his brood.

I'm actually considering Frick since I work in Basel and the missus is due to start work in Zurich. The other weekend we did drive through the town and it seemed quite pretty but just very quiet, how do you find it?

Cheers

Re: FRICK area - English speaking groups/people?

Been here since 2006, initially rented in Frick and then had a house built in Gipf-Oberfrick (older and even nicer area but quieter). Frick is really handy because its on the main railway line with direct connections to Basel, Zurich airport and also Zurich HB. Generally (by car) on the weekends we pop in to Zurich (~40mins to the center max), Aarau is ~25mins, Baden ~ 25 mins, Basel ~ 30mins. The Frick countryside is beautiful, lovely great for walking and lots of cherry trees!. Frick itself is developing commercially and residential property is increasing, you can get most of everything you need within the town. Within a 10-15min drive you can also be across the German border in Bad Sackingen or Laufenburg.

Oh and there are plenty of other people who are English speakers, be it Swiss, English or South African even American... You are best off joining the Squash Club there, even if it is as a "social member" the first Friday of every month is an event where English is often spoken - this Friday(okay it is 2nd Friday...) for example it is Indonesian Food...

Cheers Richard....indonesian food sounds tempting...but my squash days are long gone :-b I'm more of a snooker guy and play as a licenced swiss player. I suppose the idea here is if there are gatherings of housewives who get together for coffee mornings etc...not for me...for the wife :-)
