Importing Goods

Do second hand goods need to be declared at Customs. Ie. a TV that has already been used being brought in by car?

If it exceeds the personal allowance, then yes - that is, if any item (or set) is worth more than 300 CHF or the total is worth more than 300 CHF per person then you'll need to declare.

So if your TV is worth less than 300 CHF then you won't need to declare it.

Re: Importing Goods

Thanks for the advice. It's a bit difficult to price a second hand TV!

If you've not just bought it then have a look for something similar on ricardo.ch. Chances are, if it'll fit in a car and it's more than a year old or so, then it'll be under 300.

That only counts if it's your own TV that you've owned for over six months and are importing 'cos you've just moved here.
