Drama Teacher moving to Zurich

Hi lovely people,
Hope that you are all well today.
I am joining my husband in 5 weeks when my teaching contract finishes in the uk . I am really looking forward to moving here, although slightly nervous. Just wondered if anyone had any advise on how to meet people when i will not be working straight away (Not sure if these is any demand for Drama Teachers in Zurich ) xx

Re: Drama Teacher moving to Zurich

You could try contacting Simply Theatre https://www.simplytheatre.com/Online/default.asp They offer Drama classes for English-speaking students in Geneva and Zurich.

And the Zurich Comedy Club is good for meeting like-minded thespians! http://www.zcc.ch/

Join ZIWA - Zurich International Women's Association. (google for more info)

It's a great way to meet lots of new people quickly - from all over. There are lots of Swiss members also. Some of the activity groups include movie goers and an Onstage performing group. I'm sure you'd find some women with similar interests.

Volunteer to help at the International Schools in their drama department - might lead to a job later, you never know. I know ZIS has drama dept at both the middle and high school levels.

Good luck!

Hello Strudel2014
there is no need to be nervous. Zurich and the region are wonderful to explore, especially in spring and summer. After you have arrived, make friends with english forum members first and you are on the road to success. Good luck!
