British/Kenyan newbie - moving to Geneva late May

Hello people!

Just dropping a note here to say hello.

I have just accepted a new job in Geneva, and will be moving across from East Africa in late May. I'm super excited, but also a little daunted by the number of things that have suddenly found their way on my to do list. I'll probably be asking lots of questions about housing, taxation, personal banking, sports and social in the other areas on EF, and would be really grateful for your thoughts, insights and suggestions.

I'll be bringing my assortment of animals with me (3 dogs and 1 cat: a 'normal' number of household beasts in Kenya; not so much everywhere else in the world!) so I know that I'm going to be living outside of Geneva itself (will post in the housing forum for advice on towns/villages/areas in France), and doing the commute into the city for work.

Anyhoo... hope you're all having a fabulous Sunday, and I hope to bump into some of you when I arrive - I'll be looking for the local hash (H3), possibly getting back into rowing, definitely hiking (with doggies), sailing, running, watching some Rugby, obvs skiing in the winter, and finding awesome spots for sundowners.

Thanks!
Vanessa

Welcome to the Forum. A good way to start gathering info is to look at the stickys at the top of each section. You can get a lot of information about housing arrangements, bringing your pets, etc. You can also try the search function in the upper right corner, using key words or phrases. You may find the advanced and/or Google-powered searches provide more relevant info. Anything you don't see, just ask.
