Introduction to myself

Hello Folks! Thought I'd introduce myself as I'm new to this forum.

I'm a 19-year old bloke originally from Stockholm, Sweden. In September 2014, after finishing secondary school, I moved to Switzerland to study computer science at the ETH Zurich for roughly 8-10 years to come (including PhD).

I live in the southeastern Zurich suburb of Rapperswil where I rented a 35 m2 flat for CHF 750/month. Proper kitchen and bathroom, good amount of space and a stunning alpine view...in short, I'm loving it so far.

Besides Swedish and German, I speak fluent English and French, and intend to acquire Zurich German to enable socialising with locals on a much better level. I actually picked up some of it around 2010 mainly through Wikipedia, but not much.

Last but not least, I love travelling, and (strangely) know quite a bit about public transport and immigration law worldwide.

Well, that's me I guess. I hope I will be of use to this forum and certainly look forward to posting

Cheers folks!

Re: Introduction to myself

Vällkommen till Schweiz. We do need more Crazies here.

Just one little piece of advice: I suspect it might be dangerous to call Rapperswil a suburb of Zurich, although, of course, if the Paradeplatz were at Central Park in NYC, Rapperswil would still be at the near end of Long Beach. But this is not NYC, it's a small world, and I can't imagine Rapperwilers would like to be put anywhere near Zürchers. Just my 2 centimes.

Re: Introduction to myself

I consider it a Zurich suburb mainly because it's in the ZVV area, i.e. my "Alltagsgebiet". Similar to Södertälje in Sweden, a mid-sized city within the Stockholm transport area.
