Bit of help please!

I am thinking of moving jobs to work in the Lausanne area, and with a wife and 2 kids (8 and 10) I would like to know a few things beforehand, such as is it worth renting first then looking to buy, what is the schooling position and provision (free or fee), where are the best (quietest) places to live, would my wife be able to find any work etc. ? Still at preliminary stage of things and first tentative applications, so any information gratefully received.

This is the introductions area, it is polite to use it as a place to introduce yourself.

Browse the suitably and intuitively named forums for valuable information. After you have exhausted the forums of all the valuable information and can no longer find what you are looking for through the various means of finding information on the forum (see my signature), then ask these questions.

I can guarantee that the answers are already there, the answers and more.

Also, it doesn't help to post questions in the introduction area as not everyone reads the introductions.

Good luck and happy reading.

Re: Bit of help please!

Thanks for the early replies, I didn't realise it was quite so formal but your comments are noted, AbFab. As a 'first time user' the site is a bit bewildering - stacks of info and obviously lots of regular users, but a little hard to find where to go. I will follow the links and hopefully find the information I need from there. Cheers.

Re: Bit of help please!

Hello there! I, too, am more or less a Newbie, and I appreciate that you find it a bit difficult to sort out the various parts of the site. If you come on-line regularly though, you will see that there are between 10-15 posts asking much the same questions as you asked every day. As Gooner says, if you dig up as much information in the site as possible and then ask specific questions it saves time and you may well then receive the detailed answers you need from members who live in the region, or others who know the law on the matter.
Good luck!
