American going for a masters in CH

Hello all!

I just joined this website and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm currently in Boston, MA, USA but my girlfriend and I will be applying to a few swiss schools this winter for some microbiology and/or bioinformatics Masters programs. If all goes well we'll be moving to Switzerland to study starting sometime in August 2016. I've read through a lot of the forums here and it seems like this is a great community and I look forward to being a part of it.

I have a bunch of questions that I'll start asking in the proper sub-forums!

Thanks! I'm a bit nervous about the application process, I think I have a decent shot at the non-federal institute universities but of course I'd most like to go to ETH or EPF.

Hi There,

Good luck! I just moved from Boston, well, Cambridge, 5 days ago. The visa process was "really" special to get here- a surprise, actually, when I got it. Plan enough time to mail your travel docs (passports and apps) R/T to Swiss Consulates NYC office, otherwise it will be the Fungwa and a 2 day trip to NYC to submit and receive them back.

In the meantime, enjoy the dirty water a bit longer!
