Selling a car

Dear All,

I might be leaving Switzerland in the upcoming 2 months and wanted to ask any information on how to best sell my car.

I am based in Zürich and apart from posting an ad in Autoscout.ch, I wanted to have any leads as to how I could find other ways to best expand the sell.

Regards,

Nicolas

Re: Selling a car

Not sure if this is specific to switzerland, but the general rules I think apply everywhere:
- Take plenty of pictures with a non-distracting background
- Make sure the pictures show the main aspects of the car: views from all angles, views of the wheels/tyres, interior front and rear, dashboard, odometer, boot, engine bay
- Put an honest and detailed description with both good and bad parts
- Finally, set a realistic price.

For switzerland there may be some particular issues to mention, like whether it's an import or not, if it has MFK and when it is due, etc, but you probably already know that.

Good luck with the sale. Most importantly, if you want to sell quick you need to be realistic with the price - go for the lower end of what you can find on autoscout, as many cars unrealistically priced end up staying there for ages

Selling a car

Set the price at 30-60% of the price of cars advertised on autoscout.
I sold 3 vehicles on the forum using this strategy.
