Swiss-based cross-border enthusiast says hi

Hello everyone

I've been hanging out on EF for quite a while now, so I thought it's about time to introduce myself (better late than never ).

As a German expat, I came to Baden, Aargau, in early 2012 to conquer the Swiss working world and to embrace the riches and the beauty this country has to offer. As much as I was fascinated by my new surroundings, I just couldn't get used to the prices in the beginning. So the first Saturday after immigration I took the train to the German border to calm down a bit. Don't blame me, I hail from Swabia .

Later on, I found hallo-schweiz.ch and the EF community, which were extremly helpful in many ways, so a big thank-you to everyone contributing to this awesome forum!

Today, I have moderated my quest for austerity, enjoying the Swiss nature and exhilarating cultural life, but every once in a while I still compare domestic and foreign offers when it comes to shopping or leisure.

Recently, I was struck by the idea to create a blog about all kinds of benefiting opportunities within and outside Swiss borders. I'd like to make it a comprehensive, structured knowledge base for Swiss residents with step-by-step guides, news and other useful information.

You can throw a glance at my teaser page at

crosstheborder.ch

What do you think of it? Any suggestions or ideas? Looking forward to your feedback!

Cheers

4rt
