Newly-arrived in Zurich from Charleston SC USA

Hi all! I'm 33 years old. I'm here alone for now to sort out the living situation but have a wife and 2-year-old son back home. I love talking movies, and really enjoy short films whenever there is an opportunity to catch them on a big screen. I like craft beer, nonprofit tech, games (board/card/RPG/video), karaoke, watching stand-up comedy, swing dancing, and volunteerism. My German is nonexistent at the moment. My French is passable but pronunciation skills are rusty.

At the moment I'm staying near the Kunsthaus. If you're attending films at ZFF this week, I'd love to tag along. If you'd like to meet up for a beer and introduce me to your favorite bar in town, that'd be fun too.

Welcome and good luck on the apartment hunt. We moved to Lausanne in 2009 from Camden, SC. Hope you settle in and come to love Switzerland as we do.

P.S. Grits 'round these parts are called white polenta and come in a very expensive package in the Coop.

I lived in Charleston for 10 years. Graduated from Univ. of Charleston and MUSC. It is a bit colder here than there I 'm a bit far from Zurich to attend films. They do a funky little film festival here in Neuchatel in July you may want to check out next summer:

Welcome. There are many members in your area, I'm sure they will be along soon.
