Maybe, maybe not. At the Forum dinner the other night, a newcomer told us that the bank had asked several U.S.-related questions before opening the account. This person is an EU citizen. I don't remember all the questions that were asked, but I seem to recall things like "Have you ever lived or worked in the U.S., do you have a green card, do you have a U.S. bank account" etc.
neither french account did I get the above questions to be honest, but some do complain and some have said their account was closed at whim (not americans, but expats)

Banking in France is not free and not easy for anyone to open but as a French passport holder I'm sure it's easier than for an expat at least for France.

Postfinance didn't ask me a single question either, but it's not fully open due to needing another paper for my address.

Re: Moving from Mexico City to Zurich or Geneva

As a business owner, I think taxes in Switzerland maybe better than France. France has been behaving like a junkie lately. Even my parents have made the move to transferred their assets to a different country.
I love my country but I'm not masochistic.

I will contact Barclays and Postfinance and ask if they want work with me.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you BLP and Medea!
