Hello everyone,

My name is Mairi and I live in Bern with my husband and three young children who are age 5, 3 and 1 all with birthdays coming up soonish. We moved here 4 years ago from Edinburgh (Scotland) for my husband's (then) new job. My youngest two children were born here.

I love it in Switzerland but my husband doesn't, although much of that has to do with his lack of German. Luckily I learned both French and German at school so already had quite a good grasp of the language when we got here.

My older two speak quite good Swiss German now so that their father can't understand them!! They go to a Spielgruppe twice a week but after that we will be homeschooling.

I have a business making and selling children's toys and dressing up clothes and am also a photographer.

welcome to the forum. We have occasional drinks meets that you or hubby or both are more than welcome to join. There arre a number of members in the Bern area with littlies, myself included.

I'm still fresh around here. Actually, I'm not even in CH yet, I'll be moving to your area in 2 months.... My wife and I have pretty weak German ourselves, so this should be interesting! Maybe your kids could give us lessons!
