Hi everyone,
The information displayed at this forum has helped me a lot since I moved to Zürich for a post-doc at ETH 1.5 years ago. Being Swede, I guess that my main reasons for staying in Switzerland are the mountains, the good research conditions, and the quick flight home compared to the US.

I´ll settle for a long-term position in Lausanne (UNIL) in September and me and my French girlfriend have just started to look for a 3-room apartment in downtown Lausanne, Ouchy, or somewhere close to UNIL starting August 1. Any tips are most welcome!

I look very much forward to move to the French speaking part, where I think that I will feel more at home than in Zürich.

Lausanne is a very nice place . you will like it . and you did a good choice about location of your new appartment . im sure Ouchy is the best area in Lausanne - near lake,peacefull , beautiful view .
