musician/pianist moving to Zurick

hello,im hoping to move to Zurick in September to follow my partner who has a job there already organised.....i guess i will try to get freelance work as a teacher and player and maybe do some berlitz english teaching.Does anyone know is it difficult to get work permits for this kind of thing as i dont want to get in a situation where i have to marry to get a permit.
Also just a question about an unmarried mothers rights over her child...in Ireland the mother has way more rights if shes unmarried....is this also the case in Switzerland?
very grateful for a response,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
I won't address your permit issues, as there are others who know much more about the specifics of freelancing on B-permits than I do. I'm just intrigued as to what you mean about an unmarried mother having more rights over her child than if she were married. I know there are some state benefits, but "rights" in general?
