New to EF and soon to CH

Hello,

To start with, I have been looking at English Forums for some time now and I’ve been really impressed with provided information ... tons of really useful stuff!

We (family of four, plus 12 weeks old Golden Retriever puppy) are looking to move to Zurich area in next couple of month, give or take . So many things to sort out – both in UK and in CH – before we actually move, so I don’t have exact date yet. I am relocating with my current IT company while my better half will take some time off from the work and be a hausfrau for a while.

We still haven’t decided on place to live but ideally in nice country side, an hour by the train from Zurich, tops. I would look to spend between 2500-3000 Sfr per month on 5-6 bedroom apartment, so if you can think of some nice spots that fit the bill, let me know. And yes, I know, I’ll search forums as well ...

Welcome to the Forum. Delighted to read your last sentence - you have obviously been learning from other folks' mistakes. That's a really good start if you intend to move to another land!
I'm not really into the housing situation and with the children, you'll also be considering them when you decide of the exact destination, so I can't help much there.
Glad to have someone from the south of England again though. Sometimes I think Yorkshire is gaining the overhand here!
