I have been browsing this forum for some time now, finally making my first post. Definitely a good source of information and offers a variety of opinions on different subjects. Being able to have access to different viewpoints on the same subject definitely helps keep it real.

I am contemplating a company transfer from Texas to Lausanne. The Swiss division has already made me an salary offer and relocation package offer. My wife and I just returned from a one week trip to Lausanne area to visit the office and check out the area. Now just have to make up our minds if we are ready to take the leap. Move would involve me. my wife, twelve year old son, and the dog.

I would go for it, better air quality, better education system, better health care,the chance to give your 12 year old the education of a lifetime just by visiting all the countries surrounding. What better education could a kid ask for! If you already have an offer than why not? Think of is as a sabatical and if it doesn't work out go back. I don't think you will regret it

Certainly one of the strengths of this site is the wide spectrum of interests and experience of the members. Makes it difficult to make decisions in that there are usually diametrically opposed opinions given, but on the other hand, not having seen everything through rose-coloured spectacles before coming, one has a much more realistic view of the situation.
A twelve year old may find it very difficult giving up friends and becoming a `Newbie` but the gain in life-experience is worth it. And life here is great. Come and join us!
