Finally after all the planning I've begun my transition to Swiss life. I'm in Lyss, 20 minutes from Bern. I'll be here for 3 years. Lookingforward to attending some of your socials!

Congrats...glad to see a fellow Cincinnatian in Switzerland. My wife and I will be there Sept. 15 and we can't wait. But, we will be living in Zurich.

So, how do you like Lyss and Bern area so far?

Lyss has already gone past my expectations. I had intended on utilizing Bern and Biel for my urban lifestyle and to fill the void of things that I miss. But as I've been in Lyss for a few days, I've found that while small, it has many unexpected accomadations. Two major groceries, several minor convenience stores. a cookie factory. Two Kappap places. Two pizza places. a chinese joint. And all that (and much more) is just food! Its quite modern and has a cute nightlife with several bars/clubs. There's a train station. a pool. clean of course! Tons of shopping and interaction for me to do as I make my international adjustment.

Lyss! Wow, I think you might be the only outsider to live there. Small but very charming place. (and excellent bakeries).
