Hello All, as I'm new to the forum, a quick introduction.

Married with 3 kids and have been living in Switzerland for the last 8 years (mostly in Thalwil).

We've finally decided that Thalwil is not the only place in Switzerland to live and have decided to change the pace of life and move to Jona!

We will be moving towards the end of the year, and can't wait!

As a family, we love skiing / sailing (have a small boat) and into entertaining - love food and drink

Welcome to the Forum - Very suspicious - moving from Thalwil to Rapperswil. Sounds to me like someone wants to be nearer the Rappi brewery and the Ploughman's Lunches.
Hope all goes well with the move and that the children take the change in their stride too.

Did you end up moving to Jona? Anybody else in the Rapperswil Jona area with primary school age children out there who would like to get together? My sons really enjoy their local school but my 5 year-old especially would like to speak in english to a friend once in a while. Please PM if you are interested.

Hi. Just wanted to say welcome to Rapperswil, a nice place to live. Escpecially in the sommer. In winter I think we have the same problems as you guys with the communication towards the ski areas.

HI. No sorry. Was way to expensive. Would like to do something else this weekend, are u up for it?

I went on Sunday and lucked out as it was free day! No cover charge for the bands on Sunday.

Still ended up spending almost 200 francs on food and drink for my wife and I, but then again ... I live to eat and drink.
