Swimming Training

Dear All

My name is Jennifer and I have been living in Basel for 8 years. I am from Ireland, married and have 2 boys age 7 and 4. Believe it or not, I have recently just discovered the English Forum Website after all these years!

I was in my younger days a very keen swimmer. I would love to start swimming again and training with a club. Does anyone have any information or contact for a swimming club in the Basel area? Many thanks.

Re: Swimming Training

I would have thought if you went to your local pool that they would have the information on swimming clubs.

Re: Swimming Training

I'm interested ! Between my 6 and 14 yo, I had trained in my country, but due some changes in my life, school, university and work I never more returned, now it is my chance in Switzerland! Do you know a club in Baden area?

The Swiss Swimming Association Homepage is www.fsn.ch
Clubs - I'm not sure which clubs have Masters groups as I only had real contact with younger swimmers. However, you should be able to get some help here. Competitions - you can see what the other swimmers look like. A few Tips, just for fun - if you haven't swum for some time.
Jennifer - unless you want a lot of Spam, I'd remove the email address. It makes more sense for mails like this to be 'visible' to others who may be interested later (and saves me the trouble of looking up all the links again! ). I agree with smackerjack's comment, but this morning I'm feeling helpful.
mcomartins - you'll need to try the club in Wettingen.
Many of the clubs have folk who speak English, but if you ring or write, it's nice if you ask if they speak English before 'letting loose' - this comment is, I hope, unnecessary, but our club has had so many callers just rattling off English at full speed - and it DOES put folks' back up.
That's my good deed for the day done. If one/some/all the links refuse to work, please PM me so that I can correct them.
