Hi there!

I've recently discovered this forum and I find it amazing!! I'm Swiss and I just moved back here from Montreal....I had 18 amazing months in this great city and I must say that I miss soooo much the North-American culture...even thought Montreal is more similar to Europe than the rest of North America anyways.... I'm writing because I perfectly understand people who have moved to a new conutry like most of you....I think that you guys are great..it takes a lot of courage to leave home!! I am so proud of you!
Lot of you guys are living in Zurich or Geneva area...I am presently looking for a job in GE or ZH, so once I find my new home...well we can meet for a drink! It would be great to still "smell" the North American flavour.

My daughter, a Montrealer and law student, will be attending a semester at Unitersite de Geneve, law faculty during Feb. - June 2008, and I am trying to get our feet wet for this future adventure . It seems that accommadations at affordable rent is very difficult in Geneva , living at a university is virtually impossible due to the limited space, and so I am hoping that during the next 12 months, we can find a suitable place for her to stay during her 5 month student visit.

Any suggestions in the months ahead would be appreciated

Montreal is Fantastic! I live in Toronto, and whenever we have a long weekend, we can't wait to get a bunch of people togeather in a car and drive up!

Yes, unfortunately Geneva is known for having a lack of condos and those available are pretty expensive. Avoid downtown condos and look for something outside Geneva. I would also suggest you to contact the University and ask them a way to reach students. Sometimes students rent their apartments for a short period of time, or they want to share apartements with another student.
