Nearly in Dubendorf

Hi just a short introduction. My wife (Michaela) and I (Karl) just so theres no confusion .. will be moving to Dubendorf or surrounding areas in November ? The date is still not certain as yet, and we will be bringing our dopey Labrador and clever cat along as well.
We are both English (Northerners) and have been living in Holland for the last 14 years, so were used to the cafe culture and European way of life, and are looking forward to a change of scenery. We both love Motorbikes and travelling around europe. I speak German (a little) and Dutch fluently and Mik speaks her very own brand of English.. and Dinglish.. but shes the clever one and has got a job, me im still looking... and hoping.. we are both looking forward to starting a new venture and life in Switzerland...

Hello Karl and Michaela, you have already posted a bit but deserve a welcome nonetheless! I wish you (plus dog and cat) a trouble-free start in Switzerland.

Welcome to the EF !

I also speak Dutch and had many people told me I'd have no trouble speaking Swiss-German quickly. WRONG ! It does however help make funny guttural sounds, which sometimes sound Swiss-German !!
