New to the Forum, 'though not to Switzerland

Hi, I'm amazed how active the forum seems to be ! I'm English, but have lived in Switzerland (Basel, Chaux-de-Fonds and mostly Yverdon-les-Bains) for half of my life now (in fact since 1981, but be kind and don't get the calculator out!). I'm well integrated, work in Lausanne, and speak fluent french, but feel I'm in a bit of a rut and it'd be nice to change my social habits a bit, which is why I've joined. I also co-run the English-speaking ladies group in Yverdon. We used to be very active when our kids were young, but it tends to be just meals out these days, which are nice, but .....
Look forward to coming to one of the Lausanne Taco's bar evenings 'though feel a bit apprehensive about turning up & not knowing anyone ....

Hi Wendy

Welcome to EF - it's great to have some "experienced" new comers to the forum.

Cheers
Nats

ps. by experienced I'm refer to experience in Switzerland. I assure you I didn't use a calculator

Welcome to the Forum.
It's great to have folk with a foot in both camps as it were. Lots of experience here, but at the same time, understanding the problems of folks relocating from another country.
Hope you find the contacts and 'new challenges' which make life so interesting for the 'more mature' Efer.

hi WendyD and welcome!

Go ahead and do it - in Zurich lots of people come to the events alone or without knowing anyone, and people are very friendly to newcomers. I speak from experience, I've met lots of very nice people at EF events .
