Me and my wife and our dog Major have just moved here from New York City (both by way of Ohio) and are looking for any advice anyone can give us. Currently we are in the process of looking for an apartment and are considering Aldiswil. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Adliswil has relatively low taxes and good connections to Zürich.

Thalwil and Horgen are also nice places to live.

I came to Switzerland via Dallas->New York->Munich->Zürich.

Hi- My wife, dog and I just relocated to Zurich area too. (also from Ohio). We are curently living in Oberrieden,(20min by train to Zurich). I think homegate.ch and this forum are good resources for finding an apartment. You can always put a post in the apartment wanted area and give the details of what you are looking for and when you need it.

So, far we like Oberrieden, it has everything we need and several dog friendly parks along the lake within walking distance.

Where are you from in Ohio? We are from Bungal country . Good luck finding a place.

My family and I came here about 10 months ago from Columbus. I grew up Buckeye fan but got my grad degree from UM .

Welcome - even if you are a buckeye. We are Nittany Lions, living in Adliswil for the past 4 months. We came here via Maryland, Ohio, Wisconsin... Adliswil is a nice town, close to Zurich and the hills, close to hiking & biking routes, good shopping in town. We have yet to really integrate with the locals, but there seem to be a lot of English Speakers her. It is also where the new International High School is located (ZIS).
