| | | Adonde estan mis boricuas?
Hello all...
So, I am looking to make true down to earth friends, no stuck up greasy swissy's (don't meant to offend). Would absolutely LOVE to meet a fellow puertorican. There are less than a handful of us in CH. Would love to chat, hang out...befriend you. Me siento solita sin gente o comida de mi pais aqui.
Also, I live for salsa...can dance for hours straight! But, its hard finding a good salsa place in Lausanne, Geneva is better but a bit far away. Another thing...I can't stand dancing or being in a club inundated with all the stuck up typical swissy's whom think they know all about Salsa, Bomba and Plena...dancing their cuban salsa looking straight from a textbook or school, not knowing the true essence of salsa...its all turns they do, no true dancing. They associate cuban salsa with all things Latin. Ahem...and then i show them up and make them look the fools. Looking for a good dance partner or few...guys and girls, friends to laugh, hang out with and go enjoy our culture with...miss mis hispanos.
Bueno, mi boricuas...envia me un mensaje...
Ciaito,
Jess
Bueno, hasta prontito. Chat me soon.
Ciao,
Jess

Good morning.
As this is not your first Introduction post anyway, you could perhaps try asking for dancing soul-mates in a more appropriate section. There might just be others out there who are as knowledgeable about it as you are. In the meantime - a few words of your native language are OK but this is, after all, the English Forum. Is there no Latin American Forum or meet up place? (this may not be politically correct term these days - in which case I apologize).
Happy Hunting.

Happy Hunting. | | | | | Longbyt - Yes, you're right it isn't my first introduction, but my first time back on the site in months. Nevertheless you are right. Now on the spanish words, yes I threw in a few words...its the spanglish I am accustomed to speaking and considering how many postings here have french/german or swiss german words in the context I didn't think anything of it to put down a few words of my own but I guess that's just my luck...ok for some or most but not for me.
And no need to fret my pet...now-a-days people play too much emphasis on being so sensitive that we walk too many egg shells and rarely speak the truth or our minds. Call it whatever you like as long as it isn't derogatory I say

You think it isn't derogatory to class every member of a nationality 'greasy' and 'stuck up'?
If I extrapolate using the example you've set, then I assume every person from where you come from is stupid and racist.

In a good spirit rock CH and vamoooos | | | | | Jacek - Finally, someone who read between the lines (of the unintentional puns, sarcasm and digs) and 'gets' that I wasn't singling anyone out, just purely looking for people who know how to throw down (a.k.a. let loose and have some genuine good fun), regardless if latino or not! Jacek...if ever you're in my neck of the woods it would be my pleasure to hit the dance floor with you, even if it isn't Salsa...
P.S.
For those whom I have genuinely offended...I'm sorry. I live here for a reason...I love the aesthetics, culture and people (even though most are close-minded). But for those who can't handle it and can't get over it then I will keep those comments to myself and not speak them to anyone (except to my friends, and to people I meet on the bus, and the train, and at the post, and at the grocery and at ...)
Hugs |

Hola mami,
You came to the wrong side of the country I guess... Geneva and Lausanne are mostly inclined to Cuban "Salsa", or more, their version of it.
Here in Zürich is much more "Puerto Rican/NY" ( or their version of it )
However if you ever come here, you'll find that the swiss ( or european) people that like the Cuban style are much closer to our latin roots than the ones that do "puerto", Who are IMHO rythmless.
Hope you find some boricuas.
In my long stay in Geneva ( 11 years ) I only met 1 real puerto rican even when he grew from 12yo in NY.
Here in Zurich noone yet.
Puerto Ricans usually don't come here for a better life like Cubans do, they usually go to Nuyorico

Look it up in the dictionary...here, i'll do it for you:
1.to infer (an unknown) from something that is known; conjecture.2. Statistics. to estimate (the value of a variable) outside the tabulated or observed range.3. Mathematics. to estimate (a function that is known over a range of values of its independent variable) to values outside the known range. –verb (used without object) 4.to perform extrapolation.
Now here I can insert something on your intelligence but I choose not to...see how that works?
Now, let's play nice and just drop it.

BTW, there is a full Puertorican Salsa school in Geneva, near the border.
Specialized only in Puertorican Salsa, they do partys every friday http://www.salsavirus.com
There were no real Puertoricans there, but they can know where to find them
I have the number of the Puertorican guy in Geneva but I don't know if his number is still valid.

I guess for us gringos social skills aren't measured by how well you dance Salsa.
