France to Lausanne

Hi all,

As you'll see from the title, we're moving to Lausanne (area) soon. We're currently living just of the West coast of France and have been here for a couple of years. During this time, I discovered an internet forum for English speaking people with connections to France - and it's been invaluable for keeping me sane! So much so, that for the past year I've been acting as a moderator for the site.

So, I'm not new to forums - but totally new to Switzerland, so much so, that I haven't ever visited. That should be rectified within a few weeks.

We are - me, my OH - who's work will be dragging us to Switzerland, and our two children, our little boy will be 4 years old in July and our daughter will be 6 in October. Oh, and our 5 year old dog (assuming there are no problems briinging a dog).

I've many questions to ask re. housing, schooling, working, taxation, health, etc., etc. - but I'll check them off one by one in the relative areas, if I can't already find answers within the forum.

Welcome to Lausanne. You will get to meet really cool english speaking people here. We meet up every 2 weeks for drinks and food in different bars around the city. We have got people from pretty much every continent on the planet. We hope you will enjoy your stay here. I am also going to organize beach volleyball in coming weeks, if you guys are interested in joining , there is always room.
