Moving to Nyon

Hi everyone,
My husband is now working in Geneva and although I won't be living here permanently I'm will be able to visit regularly. Currently living in Lausanne but soon to be moving to Nyon. Looking forward to discovering this beautiful country. My command of the French language needs to improve though.

The Travel/Day Trips/Free Time section is here. The forum is best navigated through the overview page.

Re: Moving to Nyon

Welcome to Nyon, It has a good pub, chinese restuarant, Indian restuarant and some of the normal a Swiss cuisine places to visit, also with a fairly good cinema and american food store close to it.

In the summer time there is plenty of bathing and swiming areas along the lake side, its a very calming place to stay and its also handy being able to pop over to France only ten mins drive to the border for all types Euro shopping.

It also has its fair share of music festivals with Paleo Music fest.

Enjoy

Thanks a lot for the information.I'm really looking forward to spending time in Nyon, especially during the summer months. My daughter would like to go to the Paleo festival. Do you know how easy it is to buy tickets nearer the time as she doesn't know if she can definitely get there.
regards
Angela

Hi there. My husband works in Geneva too and we live near Morges, at Lonay. I am here most of the time, children grown up. Maybe we could meet up when you are here? My French is ok kind of!

Is there only one Indian Restaurant? I have seen one near the lake. Which Chinese Restaurant would you recommend?

Hi Ange,
You mentioned French classes? ...
I am not sure whether my first reply was properly submitted, so I am writing to you again. I am living in Nyon, and would be pleased to help you with French. If you wish, we can meet up. I am a translator and interpreter by profession, and am considering going back to teach language classes to keep up with my language skills. Looking forward to your reply.
