Hi, I've just discovered this great site and as we hope to move to La Suisse in 2007 (builders and weather permitting) thought I should say hello. Jersey is a wee island in the english channel/la manche, about 14 miles from France and a little damp and overcast today. My wife and I are building a chalet in Valais (I know, I know....) and like builders the world over, the original estimate on completion has overrun. We should all have such problems I guess....it's definitely not like the trains. We hope to use the place for hols for a few years and then eventually semi retire, so maybe we'll bump into some of you above Villars/Verbier/Crans etc.

Thanks for the welcome. Jersey doesn't really change, despite the huge amount of building work going on down at the harbour, and I guess we only appreciate it when we go away. That said, Switzerland is just a big Jersey with mountains, i.e. not in the EU!

me lived there for a few years too.. miss the jersey milk... I liked having no other choice of milk :-)

The harbour construction... especially the new Hotel... looks like a bit of an eyesore in photographs... is it as bad as it looks?...
