Hello everybody,

I have been hanging around this forum reading all the (more or less) interesting threads pretty much since I left Geneva for Melbourne a bit over two years ago and thought that I actually could have helped with some of the topics and questions - hence I 'finally' signed up....

I am Swiss, so it was always interesting to see how people coming from other places are doing or coping in Switzerland. I just had the same experience on the other side of the world.... will be back in a couple of weeks though.

I think that's it for the moment. I hope to be able to contribute to some of the threads and continue to enjoy the forum!

Your message has prompted me to post for my first time as well.

I'm an Aussie, also in Melbourne at the moment, and I'll be moving to Zurich in a few weeks time. I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks, trying to get tips for the big overseas shift.

Like you say, the impressions other people have of your home country/town are always interesting, and no doubt you have a perspective on Melbourne and Melburnians that I may not have encounted before

I can see we're need a Melbourne catch up when you all get back to Zurich. We're living near Basel (but in Germany) so Zurich's not out of the question for a visit! You can bring some Aussie footy news with you as well!!
