Moving to Basel

Hi, I have been lurking on this site for a while, gaining an insight to living in CH, but, this is the my first post!
My family and I are moving to Reinach,Basel in five weeks. We have a 14 year old boy who will be going to ISB and has now decided that he doesn't want to move!!! I know alot of it is nerves but does anyone have any advice on coping with a reluctant teenager?
TIA
Karen

handcuffs?

Seriously, tell him it's the opportunity of a lifetime - and his friends are but an hour away with Sleasyjet?

Tell him the Basel girls are better looking, prefer ausländers etc.

Now, I don't know if it's true, but when you're 14 and full of adolescent hormones...

Re: Moving to Basel

Well 14 is a difficult age I suppose. At first I thought you were coming from the US, but I just noticed that you are in fact coming from the UK. In which case, as Lob point out, it's only an hour away and there's a lot less rain. Would be a pretty easy decision for me, but I'm not 14

Re: Moving to Basel

Thanks for the replies, I am sure that it is nerves and a case of "better the devil you know"

We have just spent the day in Basel and I have to say I am impressed with the efficiency, we have come away with a bank account and a phone line complete with number! I am sure once we are there full time I will begin to see the "cracks" and downfalls of CH life, but hey, not everyone gets this oppourtunity- except everyone on here!
