Hi, we are a family with two daughters (2 and 4.5 years old) who just moved to Horgen. My wife, is staying home with the kids (she would love to start working as a nurse again after some time) and I am working in Zurich in the IT industry.

The kids would love to meet other kids in Horgen, anyone out there? They really do not care if it is raining, sunny or windy (being from Norway :-). They so far only speaks Norwegian, but I guess they will speak German after some time. My wife speaks English and some German, and so do I.

We have some experience with moving to new countries as a family (Sweden and California), and so far we have had lots of fun. We are looking forward to more swimming in the lake and skiing in the mountains.

Hi and welcome to Switzerland! I moved to Zurich two years ago from the UK (although we're originally from Australia) with my family, husband and now 4.5 year old daughter. We've just moved to Meilen, which is across the lake from you, although only ten minutes with the car ferry, which also takes foot passengers. We loved Norway when we visited a few years ago.

My wife and I used to live just outside Oslo and we both (used to?) speak some Norwegian (she was an au pair there). We lived in Horgen until December and now live in Hirzel (not far away behind Horgen on the hill).

Your wife's Norwegian education will be very much appreciated at local hospitals, many of her countrymen work already there. If she learned a little more German in the meantime, she will have no trouble finding a job.
