Hello! We'll be moving to Zurich in a month (picking out a place to live next week...which will also by my first time to zurich). we'll be moving with our 2 year old lab and a baby on the way. We're excited about zurich as it seems like such a wonderful place to live and explore. I would love some "must see" day trip ideas (from Zurich) and "must see" Zurich ideas. Thanks everyone.

you know the requirements for your pet to get entry, I'm sure. Simple enough coming from the UK; your vet will make sure you have shots - do you have information about a vet in Zurich?

Well...actually, I'm a bit confused about the Dog requirements. Do I have to have a letter saying the dog was healthy before the rabies update?

talk to your vet but I believe:
- all vaccinations must be current
- dog must be checked for ticks on arrival
- dog must be microchipped by end of this year
- you should also register the dog for dogtax when you register yourselves

We brought our dog in from the UK in Feb, we didn't have any problems, she had all the necessary injections etc.. in the UK before coming over and she was already chipped, she wasn't checked for tics or anything this end, infact we were told she didn't have to visit a vet and she hasn't needed to as yet, still haven't got the dog tax though as we didn't know about this until recently!!

similarly off-topic, I grew up in Western Michigan and went to college in Grand Rapids. Apparently people can tell as soon as I open my mouth because the question I get most often from other North Americans is: what part of Canada are you from?
