My wife and I are non-EUs living in California and we are exploring job opportunities in CH.
I am a civil engineer working as a mid-level manager leading project controlling/contract&claims mgmt at an int company. I have a phone interview with Alstom tomorrow and I would certainly appreciate some insights as to interview questions, process, etc..
Previously I had two other phone interviews with Alstom for different positions. Even though one interview went very good and we got into to the details of employment, two weeks later they came back and said Sorry. This was unusual to me as here in USA you usually get an offer letter after talking about bonus, relocation package, and hearing that "we really like you" from a VP.
Re: Intending to move from Southern California to CH
"We really like you, but don't call us, we'll call you..." Hmm. It's most likely not you, just someone else on the list was more attractive. C'est la Vie.
Re: Intending to move from Southern California to CH
Well, the interview went well today but not as super as the one before did. Hiring Manager told me that he is conducting other interviews and he will get back to me in 2-3 weeks. He didn't ask me for salary or anything. Only positive note was the he asked me if I am committed for a long-term employment as they will be investing in me if they bring me on board.
I think I should forget about this position. Which sucks! Job profile is a perfect match for me...
