Moving from London to Zug

Hello everyone,

My husband has just accepted a position in Zug. He is British (42) and I am French (38) and we have a daughter who is 3. We have been living in London for 17 years and loving it. My husband will go to Zug first and we are planning to join him - should all go well - by august/september. We are still in a bit of a shock about moving with so much to learn, do etc but are very excited about this new "adventure". We are planning to come to Zug to visit probably in 2 weeks' time. Best go to the other threads and start asking my questions then! Have a good day all.

Re: Moving from London to Zug

Good luck

I've been working in Switzerland now for just about nine months coming over here usually from mondays to fridays. But my contract, though extended from its initial six months, has only ever been a short term one.

I'm now nearing the end of my time here and I'll really miss it. Had the opportunity come to get a permanent term contract on better terms then I would have been for it. The difficulty for me would have been persuading the wife and kids ( nearly 9 and 5), but the wife was out here for her second visit last weekend and I think she would have come around.

I have to say I would have still looked to hang on to my house (in Herts) and rent it out while renting property here. So perhaps I was not THAT sold on the idea, but pretty sold nevertheless

Hope you, your husband and little one have a great time and prosper. I envy the little one. She'll growing up speaking Swiss German without ever realising just how hard a language it is to learn

Re: Moving from London to Zug

There are so many goods things about Switzerland compared to other countries that definetely you should have no second thoughts on moving to Switzerland.

Regarding employment, pensionn, tax etc, it has the perfect system!
