Singaporean gal living in Shanghai moving to Switzerland!

hey ya'll

as the title states, i'm originally from Singapore, basically grew up in Shanghai (along with Germany and Hong Kong), and am attending Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne in the fall of 2010. that's where the next phase of my life is going to take place, and i simply cannot wait to get started!

i speak fluent english and chinese; i can converse in german (though my grammar is horrible and you need to speak slowly) and i'm currently learning french for lausanne. if anyone can help, please do!! it's a lot harder than i expected.

i'm still trying to get a feel of lausanne from shanghai. i'm very curious about things to do, like where to shop, where to have fun, sight-seeing destinations, getting a driver's license, getting a part-time job, what the restaurants are like, what food they serve, what the night-life is like and a LOT more! if anyone can help, it'd be great!

please do send me a message if you have any answers to the questions above! greatly appreciated

happy holidays!

Please bring as many of those soup-filled dumplings as you can carry from Nanxiang and I'll come and collect them. I should be living in Basel then.

Re: Singaporean gal living in Shanghai moving to Switzerland!

I know what they're called, I can even just about order them in Mandarin. I don't think that's a skill which will prove useful to me in Basel though Which is a pity as I doubt there's a German word for 小笼汤包.

I suggest you eat as many as possible before you leave, despite the queues at Nanxiang. You'll miss them once you get to Europe!
