Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi!

Englishforum newbie here. I'm from the Philippines and I recently interviewed for a company based in Birr. They have invited me for a personal interview so I'm flying in to Switzerland on the second week of June. I'm so excited as I have never been to Switzerland, much more any part of Europe, before!

I learned of this site through google and I hope to pick a couple of good pointers here and there to make my interview successful.

Here's hoping I do land the job and I definitely will be a regular here when that happens!

Hello chipmaker, welcome to the forum and best wishes for you interview! Will you spend some days in Switzerland before and afterwards?

I'll have a free day before my interview, and another free day after before I fly back to Manila. The company was generous enough to shoulder the hotel costs, as well as the plane fare (though it will be a reimbursed expense). The HR director was hinting I could use the free days as an opportunity to go househunting.

Hi - my wife is from Dagoupan (she is swiss also) - we have a house 10 minutes from Birr. Look at http://www.nabhome.ch for homes in Kanton Aargau. These are for buying mainly.

Hi jbrady!

My father is from Ilocos Norte, about 3-4 hours away from Dagupan, although I was born and raised in Metro Manila. Thanks for the link! I'll definitely look it up, along with the other miete/kauf links I've managed to bookmark while browsing through the this forum!

Hi Polorise! I've seen a lot of your posts in the Employment Threads and I find them very helpful. This one here is the bomb, though! Looks like I have a lot of reading to do tonight!

Re: Keeping my fingers crossed!

Good news in my inbox today!

Canton Aargau has approved my employer's application for my residence/work permit. It will now get bumped to Berne for the final approval. Once approved, I can now go to the Swiss embassy for my entry visa!

I wonder how long Bern approval usually takes?
