Hello there :-)

Hello everybody

I'm an almost 27 years old (or young) woman who lives near Winterthur. I'm Swiss and learning English at the moment. I'd like to meet new people here in this Forum and to improve my English skills. I'm excited to have a great time on this board. :-)

Have a great evening!
RedRose

Re: Hello there :-)

Hi Rose, and welcome! I'd say young.

Just to let you know, this is not a language-oriented forum; it's for English-speaking people living in, or with a connection to, Switzerland. You may find www.englishforum.com or www.englishforums.com useful for language improvement.

But it looks to me like you live in CH and speak English well. So, welcome, again! Hope to hear great tips from you about living in Switzerland.

Re: Hello there :-)

Thank you very much for welcoming me so warmly here! Yeah...I know...I'm one of not so many here who are Swiss. But I love the English language and I love to make new friends from all over the world. And I must say that this forum is really great and I feel good here.

If you have some questions about Switzerland or the living here, just ask.

Have a nice day!

See you,
RedRose

Re: Hello there :-)

Hi Aquanexus

I really love this language...and I hope I can improve it very fast. I mean, it's not that I don't like German or Swiss German, but English is the one from the foreign languages I like the most.

Of course, If I would happen to be an Immobilienmakler, I would help your friends finding a house. Buuuut...unfortunately, I'm not. ;-)

Cheers,
RedRose

Hi Red Rose,
Welcome! You sound a lot like me 15 years ago in Canada when I started my little Internet adventure trying to learn German... look where I ended up
Beautiful country BTW! I am sure you will learn a lot from us and we can mutually learn a lot from you.

Re: Hello there :-)

There are social events( usually in Zürich ) whereby you would have
the chance to talk with native speakers.

Search the forum. I believe it is usually on Wednesday night.

Welcome, RedRose. We'd be happy to speak English with you. It's all some of us do, unfortunately.

Our next social event (Weekend Drinks + dancing afterwards) is this Friday:

weekend drinks - swissotter special

Please join us if you like.
