| Thanks for all the welcomes!
I am staying in Basel for the next 3 months then I need to decide where I am going to live from then on!!!!
Yes I have found the supermarket shopping quite difficult - its nice to know TKN that I am not the only one!
Had a bit of trouble with my washing machine but I think I have got the jist of it now!
Can anyone recommend the best coffee in Basel???? | |

Ah the washing machine. I am still trying to figure those things out. The first time I used it, the machine went on for more than 2 hours and I had to manually stop the cycle. I used the "delicate" settings 40 C and 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the manual is not in English. The machines here are different than the ones I am used to in the US.
Another very important thing, if you have a ceramic cook top, make sure you use appropriate utensils and wash the cook top with specific cleaning supplies (there are some threads on that).
Another "problem" that I am facing is that the important letters that I am getting from migration office are in German and therefore I have to "bug" the German lady in our office who can help me understand what it means.
But I suppose these are expected issues and with time things will get better.
All the best!
