Been visiting this forum for almost 2 years now and its been really helpful.

Quick Intro:
28 yrs. old, originally from America, lived in Paris for 10 months, and now in Zurich for 2 years. Enjoyed my abroad experience thus far and look forward to continuing it. My German is a good party joke and my French is bearable, my English has an inverse relationship with the number of beers I consume.

It's strange... my English seems to improve when lubricated with the fruit of the barley tree.

It's when I'm sober that I make most mistakes. Give me half a bottle of whisky, though, and I can rival the Great Cham in my command of my mother tongue.

I think the same about my german or french, but when it comes to english I lose all my vowels and it ends up me just mumbling and pointing at things. My friends get a kick out of it.

Ach, just lie and tell them it's your regional dialect, an ancient and noble dialect shared by such giants of English literature as the aforementioned Great Cham and Wm Shakespeare.

That's what I always say, and nobody's ever challenged me. Though you might want to choose different literary figures lest you be accused of plagiarism...

This happened to me after a night of vodka drinking eons ago. I woke up the next morning all clean in the arms of the girl who became my first girlfriend. She was a hippy.

I wasn't restricted, just felt like I never had anything to say to add any value. I figure at the very least I could bring comedic relief from time to time.

My 1st stop forum is a professional machinists forum, and in 10 years there I have under a thousand posts. I check it several times each day, but the other members are so well informed I rarely have something to add, and so I don't. But I learn tons reading others posts . No thanks, groans, or rep there either (they tried rep once and it lasted about 2 days). Good smiley list though.
