Old(er) but interesting!

My name is June and I moved to Geneva 6 weeks ago with my husband. We both come originally from Manchester but now have a home in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
I recently retired from the NHS, having worked as a midwife for 40 years (ouch)
We were just settling to this new phase of our life, when out of the blue my husband was asked if he would like to help out on an experiment at CERN. We shocked our family as we didn't even think too long or too deeply about the answer and just said YES!
We previously lived in Geneva from 1975 to 1982. some of the best years of our lives. I worked as a midwife at Hopital de la Tour, just after it opened.
Lots of things have changed since I was last here, but not too much I am glad to say.
Hope to make contact with al sorts of interesting people!

Hi June, (gotta like your name,,,, same as my Mum).
You must have a host of tales to tell, from all those years in the baby business!!?

Good for you guys taking the plunge! What differences have you noticed since you've been back?

Positive I hope...

Okay, wish you all the best in your new life here again and look forward to hearing some of your stories to come.

Ros

Re: Old(er) but interesting!

Hi Ros
Thanks for your warm welcome. Yes I have lots of stories about the baby business, I wish I had kept a work diary, I could write a book! Still might do so and depend on my memory
Geneva has changed A LOT. Some for the better and some that I thought I would never see like litter and Grafitti.
I am really enjoying re-visiting old haunts.
All at once we are a very popular couple and have lots of people coming out to stay with us......I wonder why?!

I can well imagine, an address in Geneva will be a true magnet but that can only be to the good I'm sure......

Bags first read on your book!!
