Moving to Zurich from NYC

Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and will be moving to Zurich from NYC on July 1st... with my wife and 3 cats! Will be working for UBS downtown... and currently looking for a nice house / apt. somewhere down the lake on the Kilchberg / Horgen side, and a 911 Cabrio!

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome!

Cheers,
James

The weather is nicer on the other side of the lake. You'll get more sun.

You might not want to put your e-mail address on an open forum.

Nice spot. You would be near the top of the hill and will get more sun longer than below. Maybe even cast your shadow over the other side of the lake.

Totally. This site gets crawled often, and your email is surely in google cache now. You can expect to get lots of spam now.

and, thanks for the info on Leimbach - it looks like a good location, slightly outside of Zurich but only a few minutes by train...

Hi James! Welcome to the Forum. My husband and I are moving to Zurich from Portland, Oregon at the end of July. If you haven't already discovered www.homegate.ch and www.comparis.ch they're both very helpful. Homegate is great for searching apartments and houses. Comparis has property listing, insurance comparisons and auto listings as well which will help you with your 911 -- good choice. Definitely one of my favorite cars! If I ever get a 911, I will get one from the late 70s or early 80s. Not as fast to be sure, but that would probably be wise given all of the speed cameras in Switzerland. Have you seen this thread?
Good luck with your move!
