First Post - Hullo World

Hello All,

As an avid reader of this site I thought I'd take the plunge and sign up as a member. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner as the forums are packed with witty conversation, and likeminded folk as myself.

Well I have been in Zurich since 2000, but didn't relocate here until Oct 2004. I used to commute until then, but my wife got sick of me being a weekend husband. Well she is out here with me as well and we have not wasted our time out here as our daughter was born Dec. 2005 .

Anyway, I look forward to contributing to the vaious threads and thanks for all the laughs you have given me previously.

Cheers for now,

Craig

Re: First Post - Hullo World

Hardie-Har-Har !!!!

Twas a name given to me by my workmates as apparently my other name is not sophisticated enough (heathens).

Thanks for the reply and the welcome. As a total an utter Newbie I shoud apologise for the use of my name at the end of the first note. But then again nobody else calls me that so i have to keep my mother happy .

I suppose I should really trawl through the different forums before I am going to usurp this thread for a query, but for the life of me I cannot seem to apply and save the picture (or avatar) I want in my profile. Maybe it's this piece of bovine fecal matter they sold me and told me it were a computer.

Well, again thanks for the reply. Oooh and the ironic thing is I have not a clucking fue who Renoir was !!!

Re: First Post - Hullo World

Pierre-Auguste Renoir (February 25, 1841–December 3, 1919) was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty, and especially feminine sensuality.

Feminine sensuality ! SAY NO MORE ! Nudge, Nudge, know what I mean !

Re: First Post - Hullo World

Well a nudge is certainly as good as a wink to a blind bat. Sounds like a good scam getting paid to celebrate with the feminine gender and be sensual at the same time. Something the missus says a department I am lacking in though.

Anyhoo, still having problems getting this avatar thingemy to work. Suppose I'll be labelled as the FNG who has no face. No matter me and Mr Ballantine will persevere through the night............. (and that was perservere not perverse !).

Cheers to one and all who are still awake.

I was going to offer you assistance but I too am supporting Mr Ballantines endeavours and the thought of I, a humble musician, helping Renoir get his avatar up is all together too much !
Try again tomorrow.

Re: First Post - Hullo World

Fnaar Fnaar.

Well have trawled through the EF (lovely little anacronym) and found nought on uploading avatar problems. And there's me meant to be working with they compootaa whojiewhatits (North Ayrshire term for "thingemabob").

Will no doubt get to the bottom of it (again, I suppose I should interdict with FNAAR FNAAR).

By the way, there is a Newbie four minutes older than me (in EF terms of course - never ask a lady her age). Her tag is zyxel. Seems like there is a bit of a "baby boom" for EF newbies !

Well Hope you have a good evening. Not sure how long Mr Ballantine is going to allow me to stay compus mentus. As an aside, it has taken me ages to type this mail as at work I use a German configured keyboard, and this one is UK configured. All the zs and the ys are in the wrong place. A bit embarrasing when I'm living in Yurich...............

Born and brought up in Fairlie, North Ayshire. Haven't lived there since 1997, hence the missus from south o' tha border. Deepest Darkest Somerset as well, but the whisky and scrumpy parties always seem to go well .....................

Wiedikon eh? We'll have to get Brett out fir a pint. He's a mild mannered boy who likes a modest drink.

Isn't that right Brett.

Oh, my family comes from Ayrshire, Kilmarnock and Mauchline. Burns country.

Re: First Post - Hullo World

I used to play rugby against Kilmarnock as they and Cumnock were our two biggest rivals.

Nice to know there are other people from "God's Country" in the area, and from what you are implying, making the world a better place !
