From the picture the car is on a Zoll-schild - which means, if you sell it you will be liable to duties as of the point when you bought the car into Switzerland. If you import the car fully - you will pay import duties based on the value of the car at that point in time. It is one of the few examples of Swiss regulations working with you.

My understanding, after establishing the sticker is for the L-permit and not an import , is that the OP is leaving the country - and would like to sell the car for more than he would get from a garage AND less than you would pay at a garage - or in other words - splitting the dealers profit.

It is one of the few cars posted on EF that is fairly priced.

Keep it up dodgyken, I trust you more than anyone on here with people selling cars.

So good, nobody is getting screwed, but you're ready to sell to the garage for Chf 16'000.-- why not to somebody on the EF at the same price ? Essentialy you have already announced you're ready to take Chf 16'000.--.

Saying that, it's a nice loking car.

Do I need to give another economics lesson?

The value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it. In the OPs case the minimal value is 16k. He is happy to take that - as a last resort - when he leaves. In the meantime he is offering his car for sale on EF well below similar models on Autoscout.

For once, on EF, there is a seller who is being realistic about his position and offering a car at a sensible price. And one that I believe is very fair to both sides.

Malinda - Volvo usually have 10yr, 100k km servicing - where you only pay the costs of fluids and any additional services - abgas, winter wheel changing, replacement car etc.
